John David's Outdoor Initiation

John David was the main attraction when we went outside to enjoy this warm spring weather.

Our cat was the first to welcome John David to the outdoors.

Our Yellow Lab Libby was also very curious of John David.
She couldn't resist greeting him with her infamous lick!

And of course, Big Brother Luke couldn't wait to play a game of football! Down, Set, Hut......

Great catch, John David!!John David did not mind sitting in the grass--He just kind of sat still while taking in all of the sights and sounds. He has crawled in the grass just a little bit. Thankfully, John David enjoys the outdoors--especially since Luke never wants to come inside!!

Let's Go Fly A Kite!

Luke could not wait to help Daddy fly our new kite! He was very quick to ask for a turn. It was a very bright and windy day so Luke definitely needed his sunglasses to see the kite.

What concentration he had as Luke guided the kite. We were amazed at how well he did. Of course we won't mention the fact that it got stuck in our tall pine tree once. But our heroic daddy was able to save the kite!!

Time For Baseball!

Baseball season has arrived at the Chandler home and we are excited. Mommy, Luke and Daddy love practicing their skills, especially in this beautiful spring weather. Luke enjoys batting and pitching, both of which he is doing well at. To Luke, every hit (foul or fair) is a homerun. When you hit the ball, Luke insists that you MUST drop the bat and run around the invisible bases. Mommy does a great job hitting the ball, but winds up grabbing the camera to take a few shots. For the record, she did hit the ball over the house the other day. Of course, she was hitting against a two year old. Daddy can sometimes get a hit on Luke's special "gyro" ball (unpredictable pitch), too. We're rooting for those Cubbies! GO CUBS!!!

John David crawls to Daddy!!

Today, John David took his first step toward independence...he is CRAWLING!!! He started the day by crawling to his big brother, Luke. We won't mention that he was actually crawling to the handful of Cheerios that Luke was holding. When Dadday got home from work, John David decided to show off his new skill on camera. WAY TO GO, JOHN DAVID!! We're so proud of you!! .......boo hoo, boo hoo :)

Hope you enjoy the video!!

John David at 8 months

Here is a photo of John David at 8 months old showing off his 6 teeth. We have been waiting now for about a week with our video camera in hand ready to capture John David's first time to crawl. We are still anticipating this moment. I am really not in any hurry for that day since I realize that after he starts crawling, I will have trouble getting still photos like these! However, don't think that John David is frustrated. No, he rolls and rolls all over the house and stretches to grab most anything now that he realizes that everything is now within reach! We love our happy, good-natured John David!!

Family Movie Night

On Friday, March 2nd, our children's ministry at church hosted a Family Movie night--"Moe and the Big Exit"--the newest release from Veggie Tales. Luke had a great time dressing up again as a cowboy, eating pizza, decorating cupcakes, throwing dodgeballs, and watching the movie. John David got to spend the evening with Grandma and Granddaddy.
