I'm getting lots of threatening emails of people going to pinch my head off, kill me, get back at me, strangle me and much more because of the delay of posting the gender and name of the baby. This has put some fear in my life and I must come out in the open and explain a small important detail as to why I waited so long to reveal the info. :)
The reason for waiting so long for posting was that we were waiting for certain family members (namely our little boys, Luke and John David) to get the hospital and hear first before we broadcasted it on the internet. :)
I hope everyone understands. :) Love to all!!
Baby update: We're at home today, resting. Even the boys are taking the day off from playing with their cousins and grandparents. Lucy is still eating and sleeping very well. Mommy is also sleeping well. :)

Going Home
Hello family and friends,
We are about to head home. Mommy and Lucy are finishing up a good two hour nap. I'm packing things up and getting ready to start loading the van. I imagine that we will be leaving the hospital around 5:30. We'll stop by the huge consignment sell at the RSEC and see if we can pick up a few girly clothes. :) Then we'll head homeward.
Thank you, once again, for the visits, calls, emails, comments, gifts and prayers. Please keep the encouragement coming. :) Today's families are getting hit harder and harder each and every day by the enemy. Your prayers are needed more than anything else. Please pray especially for Lucy and for her parents, to be obedient and sensitive to God's leading and to be thankful in all things for God's ultimate grace of sending His Son, Jesus, to die on the cross as our substitute. :)
We love you all!!!

Birthday Cake!
If you are close to the Green family, you will know that there are several March birthdays. You might also know that strawberry cake is a favorite birthday cake choice for most of those birthdays. So, to continue the flavor tradition, Lucy "received" her strawberry cake through Jen's dessert choice for her lunch menu on Wednesday. Mommy and Daddy enjoyed the cake as a late night snack on Wednesday. :)

Baby's 1st Day!!
We've had some visitors already today!! Big brothers, Luke & John David, along with their cousin Catherine and Grandma and Aunt Johnna came for a visit around 11:00. We had some coloring books for them to work on while the adults played with Lucy. :)

Sleep time :)
It is almost 1:00 am and we have settled down in our room (308). Lucy is rooming in with us and she is passed out right now!!! She is zonked because of her long day. She's not real hungry, but we all know that will soon change. Here's some more info on her. In addition to the 7lbs 14oz, she was 20 1/2 inches long. Beautiful pink colored skin and a cute little bow in the hair!!! I don't remember seeing that bow during the delivery. :) btw- I had the opportunity to "assist" in the delivery!! Lucy is so precious!!! I've already lost count of how many kisses she's received from her daddy.
Mommy is doing great!! She's got a little burst of energy right now. She really gets excited over filling out the paper work, going through the free goodies we get from the hospital, etc. :) She is also excited to be able to walk again. :)
I spoke with my Grandma Helen Redick (my mother's mother) earlier in the evening to tell her about the news and lo and behold guess what I found out!! Her grandmother's name was Lucy and her grandmother had a sister named Grace!!! So, Lucy's name comes from her great-great-great grandmother, Lucy Meeks!! How neat is that???!!!
We're heading to bed now. Thank you for all of your wonderful notes and comments. Keep them coming, because there is more to come tomorrow and the many days ahead. :)
I'll post a good slideshow soon of other shots collected throughout the evening. Love you all!!!!!!

PS-Luke and John David are very proud big brothers!!! :)

OKAY...
Jen is fully dilated. She still has quite a bit of epidural left in her so she doesn't have much push power at the moment. So, with Dr.s suggestion, we're waiting till some of that wears off so that she can push naturally. Baby is doing great!!! Mommy is doing great!!! I've got my gear on!!! :)
Love you!!
Maybe within the next hour!!!!

Slow Your Horse Down :)
Just letting you know that it is easily going to be at least another 3 hours or more. She's been at 5cm for a few hours and she still has some thinning to do. They're backing down the epidural as well because her contractions have slowed down. :)
So, keep praying for my sweet, little wife as she presses on. We'll keep you updated the best we can. :)
We love you all and look forward to introducing our little boy or girl to you!!!

Thank you!!

Update!
Jen has dilated to 5 cm and half way there!!! Nurse Susan said that the last 5 cm generally will not take as long as the first 5 cm. :) She also reported that she is about 80% effaced!!!!
It won't be long (I don't know the exact time, so please don't ask). :)
Love you all!!

Shhh...
Jen has settled down for a nice afternoon nap. She's at 4 cm, water has been broken and she's knows she's gotta sleep now for what lies ahead.
I know that this is the third time for us, but I'm still amazed at how incredibly creative and maginificent the hand of God is. Who can ever say that there isn't a Master Designer behind creation?

Visitor #1
Tony Adams, Associate Pastor at Trace Creek, stopped by for a quick visit right after Jen got her epidural. He wins the prize for being the first visitor. Everyone else will have to settle for honorable mention. :)
Oh, and HAPPY BIRTHDAY to Jennifer Adams!!!! Don't mind those balloons!! We love you!!

The Wonderful Dr. Green!!!!
Dr. Green just came by for a visit. He was surprised things were moving as fast as they are. Good news. :)
They're giving Jen some extra fluids now to get her ready for the magic needle that will take her to the magic place and help her ease the pain. :)
Thanks for all of the comments!! And especially thank you for the prayers!!

It's a Horse Race!!
Here is an earlier picture of the monitor which has the different patient's monitoring info on it. It shows baby's hr and Jen's contractions. It looks like a horse race!! I'm putting my wager on #1 (Jen). :) Go KY Mama, Go!!!
FYI: Jen's blood pressure is excellent!!! 104/60 Baby's heart rate is about 130 and contractions are peaking to about 60 or so (whatever that means??? we have no idea, but Jen says it hurts. :)

10:30 check
Nurse just checked Jen and she is at 3 cm and doing good. Contractions are about 1-2 minutes apart. There's still no hurry yet. :)
We're watching Let's Make a Deal on the Game Show Network. The lady just won a huge load of Dorman's Swiss Cheese! How exciting! The Food Network shows and the Baby channels are NOT the best things to watch right now. :)
Thank you to John, Joyce, Johnna, Catherine, Joann, Scott, Austin and Ariana for watching the boys!!!

Hold the Press!!!
She's starting to feel contractions pretty heavily!! They just took an unexpected jump. They have not started the pitosin yet and the nurse is getting ready to check her.
She has her ice chips in hand!!! I'm switching from my house shoes to my tennis shoes.
More updates to come!!

Good sleep!
Good morning!
Jen woke up at about 7:30 and freshened herself up. She slept really well. :) She's doing great! Not much progress at the moment, so there is no big hurry right now.
Cervadil has been removed and we might be getting some Pitosin soon to get things going.
She's dialated 2-3 cm and about 60% effaced.
Love you all!!

Here comes Baby #3
Hey there everyone!! I know that it has been quite some time since our last post and I'm sure that everyone is forgiving of that. :)
It is Monday evening and we have just checked into the hospital. Jen is having to be induced because of the size of the baby. :) Our two previous, Luke and John, were delivered about 1 1/2 to 2 weeks early, so this one has followed the same pattern. NO!!! We don't know the sex of the baby and we're not sharing names!! So, you'll just have to wait out the suspense with us. :)
We'll get some rest tonight and see how the cervadil works. Jen just got her IV and she should be going to sleep soon. So far, she's not having any contractions (let me rephrase, she's not feeling any contractions). The chart is showing that she is having some, but nothing "big" right now.
I'll give more update later. Stay tuned!!!
One excited Daddy,
AL
